Pre-production

1. The idea

At this stage of the process, the client presents the main idea and the purpose of the graphic design project he wants Pencil Castle to create on his behalf.

2. The production brief

This is an extremely essential document that Pencil Castle Pictures forms during a meeting with the client. In this document the main idea, the purpose of the graphic design project and every possible detail known to the client that could serve the project, is written down on paper. This is very important because this document serves as guide and reference for all the working team throughout the process of the project.

3. The Contract of Agreement

This Signed Contract of Agreement will include the project brief, the timetable for the separate tasks of the project, the payment plan and the agreement on the terms and policies in services and privacy of the information discussed. This is the most important document before the official commence of the project and both the Pencil Castle representative and the Client need to be present and mutually agree on this document.
* An Advance Payment of the 25% of the Final Cost is Essential at this stage. – The Deposit is Not Refundable

Main production

4. Market Research

After the submission of the main idea and purpose of the project by the client, the production team takes into consideration all the information given about the identity of the design and do a thorough market research. This research will provide the team with more information about the design that similar identities share on the market, the use of their logo and the ways they promote their ideas visually. This information is very helpful because the new graphic identity that Pencil Castle will design for our client should be unique in concept, quality and aesthetic and should not compare with anything already seen on the internet or in other digital or printed medium.

5. Logo Proposals

When the research is complete and the information is shared, the design team of Pencil Castle starts designing possible ideas for the identity of the client. At this stage all the precious ideas are examined and visually explored. The client gets informed about the different logo proposals and ideas and has the freedom to choose or express his thoughts on the designs presented to him. In Pencil Castle we do not design just for the sake of art. Our main purpose is to create great customized art and designs for our clients, so their opinion is really important to us and is taken seriously into account.

6. Final Logo Design

The final Logo design, is the Graphic identity design that serves better the idea and purpose of the client’s design plan. This final design should be officially approved by the client before the production team starts the research on color and the design of other promotional material of the identity.
* A Deposit of the 50% of the Final Cost is Essential at this stage.

7. Color – Size Research & Applications

When the final Logo design is decided and approved by the client, the design team will do a research on the Color and Size of the design. Color and Size are extremely important as they trigger emotions to the viewer and play a crucial role in the way the audience will perceive the identity created. Color and Size Board proposals will be presented to the client and the most suitable color and size for the logo identity will be selected.

8. Promotional Material

Graphic Design and Identity’s ultimate purpose is the promotion of an idea, individual-professional, company, product, service etc. The logo alone does not serve the purpose of promotion if not applied successfully to promotional material, such as websites, printed cards, flyers, posters etc. The promotional materials designed for the Graphic design identity of the client are really important and their quality must be in a very high level in order for the identity to fulfill its purpose.
